The problem with using Amazon as the backing store.. you get widescreen version vs. the special edition etc. Also, stuff that isn’t available for sale yet gets created by users and then later discarded as the ‘real’ item becomes available.
Providing some sort of normalization of these would allow for much better interaction.. one place for comments / tags / ratings etc
Would make the list of movies to see / has seen way more useful. Also, exposing this in the API.
I am sketchy on how this stuff works, but there are instances where one will complete something on allconsuming. If it’s not immediately marked “Worth Consuming,” the feed gets tagged as “Not Worth Consuming” Subsequent updates, especially when I’d be writing an entry about it, and explicitly label it “Worth Consuming” do not update the feed.
